Capturing the Idea

Being able to quickly jot down ideas is important and carrying around a sketch book is even more important to the designer. The designer helps capture and enhance ideas that convey information that people want to know about. People seek out this information becuase they're excited about it. They want to feel the rumble in their chest when the fire up the ignition in a supercharged 5.0 muscle car or offroad performance truck. It feeds peoples passions.

In the below examples I'm showing how I've captured an idea and potential layouts. Just some quick sketching can layout different arrangements of content and how they work together.

Gathering Ideas

Here I'm blocking in chunks of information. This shows the start of the wireframing process and laying out the div tag containers. Once the idea and content are captured then I'll go into the code and start applying the rules.

Here I'm showing the inspiration and possible content layout. I like layering in different organic and geometric textures to add depth to a composition. There is a nice visual play between the textures, the smooth lines of the truck, the body copy, and the logo element. It keeps the viewers eyes engaged. The compostion evokes feelings of imagining yourself wanting to drive this truck through the swamp, forrest, or desert.
