Medical Interface

The medical field offers another venue that is fascinating to day dream about. Imagining how some simple shapes can be modeled and built in Maya juxtaposed mixed with a graphic user interface made in Illustrator was the art direction here.

I started with some simple drawings visaulizing how some foot bones would look in a three dimensional space. Next, I built out a pixel perfect interface that was imagined in Illustrator. I properly named and layered out the composition imagining how these elements might move in After Effects. Export.

Import. Everything was imported into After Effects where I spent some time arranging and moving everything around.

Notebook

Here I'm visualizing how the bones will look. I'm also thinking about how the form will be lighted on the stage along with core shadows and reflective light.

Poly Shapes

Here I'm showing the shapes in wireframe mode.

Poly Shapes

In Maya I've built out the meshes and applied the surfaces in this pictures.

Arnold Renderer

After some time building out the poly shapes, laying out the UV maps, texturing, and lighting I arrived at this point.

Final Render

After some time building out the poly shapes, laying out the UV maps, texturing, and lighting the stage next I'm ready to import everything into After Effects for post work.

Once I've pulled in all the properly named layers into After Effects and I started keyframing and easy easing everything into place.
